KAWARTHA LAKES-A multi-agency search for a missing airplane has concluded after it was found on Wolf Lake, in Queens Elizabeth II Provincial Park.
Trenton Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) made the announcement on Twitter this afternoon. The pilot remains unaccounted for and the case is now with the OPP as a missing person’s case.
“Although not the outcome we wanted, we hope the efforts of all #SAR units will aid the continued search.” said the JRCC.
Police say the plane departed from the Oshawa Airport at 8:30 a.m. on August 14, 2026. David, age 73, is an experienced pilot and departed the airport in a single home-built aircraft and was expected to return at 9:30 a.m according to Durham Regional Police. (DRPS)He is described as: male, 5’7” tall, with a slim build. He has black/grey hair and a moustache.
