KAWARTHA LAKES-This is the bridge over the Little Bob Channel, now Road 36 beside the Edgewater Condominiums, circa 1900. “It was higher than it is now, because the Boyd sawmill was where the pool is now, beside the dam down there. The tugboats had to go in there and logs passed under on their way to the sawmill. Note the oxcart going over the bridge.” Later the bridge was rebuilt with two steel spans and a pier in the centre—all much closer to the water’s surface. It has once again been replaced with concrete.
