Motorcycle Driver Allegedly Speeding And Not Wearing A Helmet Facing Impaired Charges

HALIBURTON HIGHLANDS-A 50-year-old Cambridge man is facing a slew of charges including speeding, not wearing a helmet and impaired driving.

On Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at around 8:20 p.m., Haliburton Highlands OPP officers observed a motorcycle travelling eastbound on Loop Road in the Municipality of Dysart et Al at a high rate of speed and observed that the driver was allegedly not wearing a helmet. Officers located the driver and subsequently entered into an impaired driving investigation.

As a result, a 50-year-old of Cambridge, was charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·        Failure or refusal to comply with demand

·        Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code – two counts

·        Drive motor vehicle, no plates

·        Drive motor vehicle, no permit

·        Owner operate a motor vehicle without insurance

·        Fail to wear a proper helmet on motorcycle

The accused is scheduled to appear before an Ontario Court of Justice in Minden on a later dat
