KAWARTHA LAKES-A joint traffic enforcement between the OPP and the Ministry of Transportation has taken a number of commercial motor vehicles off the roads.
The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP recently conducted a joint traffic enforcement with the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) in Kirkfield.
Police say 18 commercial motor vehicles (CMV’s) were inspected leading to 10 trucks taken out of service and 10 provincial offence notices being issued.
According to police, unfortunately due to word of mouth of the inspections taking place there was a noticeable decrease in CMV traffic in Kirkfield, much like avoiding a RIDE program avoiding a CMV inspection affects all motorists.
Police say these inspections are for the safety of everyone utilizing the highway.
