HALIBURTON HIGHLANDS-A 40-year-old Haliburton man is facing drug trafficking charges after a lengthy investigation.
Members of the Haliburton Highlands Detachment, with assistance from the Central Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), began an investigation into reports of drug trafficking in the Minden and Haliburton area.
On Wednesday, July 8, 2026, officers located and arrested a 40 year-old from Haliburton, and charged him with these following offences:
·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – three counts
·        Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
·        Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis in open baggage
·        Possession of over 30 grams dried cannabis in a public place
During this investigation, officers say they recovered and seized:
·        2 cellular devices
·        Digital scales
·        70 grams of cannabis
·        30.5 grams of crystal meth
·        30.8 grams of cocaine
·        9 Percocet pills
·        $195 Canadian currency
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Minden at a later date.
