KAWARTHA LAKES-Four young women who graduated from our local high schools were recognized recently for their peer leadership with the Soroptimist Positive Influence Award from Soroptimist International of Kawartha Lakes.
Soroptimist International of Kawartha Lakes joins with the schools in their annual recognition activities by presenting the award to a female graduating student from each of the city’s four secondary schools who models values, beliefs and attitudes that inspire others. The modest cash award is presented to a young woman for being an exemplary role model to her peers, focusing on positive character traits rather than academic or athletic achievement.
The 2026 recipients are:
Sarah Dewey, Fenelon Falls Secondary School
Terryn Ryan, Lindsay Collegiate and Vocational Institute
Fiona Zack, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School
Kaydance Lane, I.E. Weldon Secondary School

Since the program’s inception in 2012, 52 young women have received the Soroptimist Positive Influence Award.
