KAWARTHAS-Community Care Peterborough is pleased to announce a new home for its Apsley service office – a move that will offer a more accessible space in a welcoming central location.
As of Monday, July 27, 2026, Community Care in Apsley will operate at 91 Burleigh Street in Apsley. While it is a mere 200 metres from the previous location, the relocation offers many benefits for clients, volunteers, and staff members.
“Our team of volunteers and I are excited to move into this bright, beautiful, and renovated house, just down the street from our previous location. We look forward to a very welcoming and accessible space for our clients, volunteers, and the community,” said Katie Bryck, Community Development Coordinator in Apsley.
The office currently serves over 200 clients annually from across the Township of North Kawartha with a team of 54 dedicated volunteers who help with services like Meals on Wheels, Transportation, Friendly Visiting, and Telephone Reassurance Calls. The office staff and volunteers also run the Apsley Thrift Store – a key fundraising initiative and popular local shop that helps support Community Care’s programs and services.
The moving dates are set for Thursday, July 23 and Friday, July 24. The service office will remain operational (via phone only) during these moving dates. The thrift store will be closed to the public from July 20 to 24, and plans to re-open on July 27 at the new location. Community Care’s Apsley office will be relocating from its home of several years on the lower level of 126 Burleigh St. The office phone number will remain the same (705-656- 4589).
