Havelock Man Charged Following Single Vehicle Collision

PETERBOROUGH-A 29-year-old Havelock resident is facing charges after a single vehicle collision.

On Saturday June 13, 2026, at approximately 10:00pm, an officer from the Peterborough County OPP was dispatched to a report of a vehicle that had gone into the ditch on County Road 50 in Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Township. Police say the vehicle left the roadway with an impact that caused the airbags to deploy.

The officer arrived on scene to find the vehicle however there was no driver with it. The officer patrolled the area locating the vehicle driver a distance away and after a brief conversation with the officer, was arrested and transported to the Peterborough County OPP detachment for testing.

A Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Township resident was arrested and charged with;

• Operation while impaired

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on July 14 and had their driver’s licence suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days.

The Peterborough County OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead when consuming alcohol or drugs. Use a designated driver, cab, public transit, or stay overnight.
