KAWARTHA LAKES-City of Kawartha Lakes OPP officers have laid multiple impaired driving charges since May 28, 2026.
On May 28, 2026, at approximately 2:28 p.m., officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision on County Road 121 in Somerville Township. Upon arrival, officers located the driver, who was not injured. Through investigation, the driver was arrested and charged with operation while Impaired – Alcohol and drugs and failure or refusal to comply with demand
On May 28, 2026, at approximately 9:00 p.m., officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Waite Road in Manvers Township. Through investigation, the driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving offences. No one was injured as a result of the collision. A 30-year-old of Janetville, was charged with operation while Impaired – Alcohol and drugs and operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
On June 2, 2026, at approximately 2:01 a.m., officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Centreline Road in Emily Township. Through investigation, the 30—year-old female driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving offences. No one was injured as a result of the collision.
On June 2, 2026, at approximately 8:15 p.m., officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Westview Drive in Emily Township. Through investigation, the driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving offences. No one was injured as a result of the collision. a 28-year-old of Oshawa, was charged with:
·      Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
·      Novice Driver – Blood Alcohol Concentration above zero
All accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. All drivers received a 90-day licence suspension and a 7-day vehicle impoundment.
