Multiple Stolen Vehicles Recovered By Northumberland OPP

NORTHUMBERLAND-Northumberland OPP has recovered multiple stolen vehicles and charged one individual.

On May 23, 2026, officers responded to a complaint regarding a stolen vehicle at a property on County Road 65 in the Municipality of Port Hope. Police say they located a stolen pickup truck, and the Peterborough/Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) was engaged to assist with the investigation.

A search warrant was executed at the property on May 24, 2026. As a result, numerous stolen vehicles were located within wooded areas on the property. Police say officers also recovered a fishing boat.

In total, police seized seven motor vehicles, a boat, and other items believed to be related to criminal activity. The estimated value of the recovered vehicles is approximately $900,000 CAD.

As a result a 41-year-old from the Municipality of Port Hope, has been charged with:

·        Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 – eight counts

·        Altering/destroying/removing a vehicle identification number – three counts

The accused was held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
