Man On Electric Scooter Facing Impaired Driving Charges

QUINTE WEST-The Quinte West Detachment OPP has laid charges in an impaired investigation.

On Sunday, April 5, 2026, at approximately 7:00 p.m., a traffic stop on Marmora Street in Trenton led to an investigation where an electric scooter was used, resulting in the arrest of the operator for being impaired according to police. The individual was transported to the detachment for further testing.

66-year-old David Hanna from Quinte West was charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on May 7, 2026. Additionally, their licence was suspended for 90 days.
