Weather Forecast For The City Of Kawartha Lakes

Rainfall Warning:

Rain, heavy at times is expected. The saturated or frozen ground will have little ability to absorb this rainfall with aamounts of 20 to 40 mm. Locally higher amounts are possible in areas that receive thunderstorms beginning tonight or Wednesday morning and lasting through Wednesday.

A series of low pressure systems will lead to significant rainfall across parts of southern Ontario.

Water will likely pool on roads and in low-lying areas.

Freezing Rain Warning

Period of freezing rain expected Wednesday before changeover to rain.
A period of freezing rain lasting several hours with ice accretion or build up of 2 to 5 mm beginning tonight or early Wednesday morning and changing to rain by Wednesday afternoon.

A series of low pressure systems will lead to significant freezing rain across parts of southern Ontario. Temperatures will hover near the freezing mark and may result in some portions of the region receiving freezing rain while others transition to rainfall earlier or receive purely rain.

Roads and walkways will likely become icy and slippery. Local utility outages are possible.

Be very careful if walking or driving.

Tonight:Cloudy with 40 percent chance of rain showers or drizzle early this evening then 40 percent chance of drizzle late this evening and after midnight. Periods of freezing rain beginning after midnight. Risk of freezing drizzle late this evening and after midnight. Wind becoming east 20 km/h gusting to 40 early this evening then becoming northwest 20 gusting to 40 after midnight. Low minus 1.

Wed, 11 Mar Periods of freezing rain changing to periods of rain or freezing rain near noon. Wind east 30 km/h becoming light late in the morning. High plus 3. UV index 1 or low.

Night Periods of rain or freezing rain ending in the evening then cloudy with 60 percent chance of rain showers later in the evening. A few flurries beginning near midnight. Wind becoming northwest 20 km/h near midnight. Low minus 4. Wind chill minus 12 overnight.
