KAWARTHA LAKES-The OPP was busy on Saturday with a number or accidents on local roads during heavy fog.
Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP are investigating a multi-motor vehicle collision that took place around 3:15 p.m., on Saturday, March 7, 2026.
Simcoe Street was closed between Brock Concession Road 1 and Brock Concession Road 2, as well, Ramsey Road is closed from Fingerboard Road to Simcoe Street while officers investigated. Further information will be provided when available. Visibility in the area of City of Kawartha Lakes was very poor at the time according to police and the OPP suggested remaining off roadways until conditions improved.
The Peterborough County OPP received a call for a multi vehicle collision on Highway 115.
At approximately 8:50am, on Saturday March 7, 2026, the Peterborough County OPP received a call regarding a multi-vehicle collision that had occurred in the southbound lanes of Highway 115 between Porter Road and Boundary Road. Information provided was that a single collision had taken place but due to the limited visibility from the fog, other vehicles collided with the existing crash according to police.
Officers along with Fire and EMS attended and as of 10:30am, are continuing to deal with the crash scene. Four individuals have been transported to local hospitals as precautionary measures but at this time, only minor injuries have been reported.
Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP are investigating a single motor vehicle collision that took place around 7:00 a.m., on Satruday, March 7, 2026.
OPP officers along with Kawartha Lakes fire and Kawartha Lakes EMS were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision on Elm Tree Road between Star Road and Riley Lane in Kirkfield. Upon arrival a 51-year-old female of Kirkfield was transported to a local area hospital and was later pronounced deceased because of her injuries. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
