KAWARTHA LAKES-Kawartha Conservation has completed the Burnt River Flood Plain Mapping Study.
Residents, property owners, and community members are invited to attend a public information session to learn about the finalized flood maps, understand what they mean, and ask questions. This mapping will support development review, infrastructure planning, and emergency preparedness according to Kawartha Conservation.

Doors open. Review detailed flood maps and speak with staff.
5:30 p.m.
Project overview presentation from Kawartha Conservation, including background, data collection, and how the mapping was developed.
Technical presentation from DM Wills Engineers explaining the engineering analysis and methodology.
6:00 to 6:30 p.m.
Moderated panel discussion and Q and A with representatives from Kawartha Conservation, DM Wills Engineers, Parks Canada, City of Kawartha Lakes staff, and Ministry of Natural Resources.

The public information session will also be streamed live through the zoom link below and will also be recorded and shared after the meeting at a later date, so everyone has access to the information shared at this session.
