Impaired Driving Charges Laid After Vehicle Reportedly Runs Red Light

ONTARIO-The Quinte West OPP has laid an impaired driving charge.

On Sunday, February 22, 2026, at approximately 2:00 a.m., the Quinte West OPP conducted a traffic stop on Dundas Street West, the driver was arrested for impaired driving and transported to the detachment for further testing.

20-year-old Cody Calnan from Caselton, was charged with:

·      Fail to stop – red light

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentrations (80 plus)

·      Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on April 9, 2026. The vehicle was impounded for seven days, and his licence suspended for 90 days.
