OPP Reminding The Public When To Call 9-1-1

ONTARIO-The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) would like to remind the public of when to call 9-1-1.

Call 9-1-1 for emergencies requiring immediate assistance from police, fire, or paramedics.

Call 9-1-1 when someone’s health, safety, or property is in imminent danger, such as for chest pain, difficulty breathing, serious collisions, crimes in progress, or fires according to police.

For all other non-urgent police matters, the Ontario Provincial Police dispatch can be reached 24/7 at 1-888-310-1122. The Quinte West detachment can be reached for non-emergencies at 613-393-3561 a member will direct your call appropriately.
