Weather Forecast For The City Of Kawartha Lakes

Special Weather Statement Issued:

Rain tonight, followed by gusty winds and rapidly falling temperatures Friday with total rainfall amounts of 10 to 20 mm. Rapidly falling temperatures resulting in surfaces becoming icy and slippery.

Westerly to northwesterly winds gusting 60 to 80 km/h. When: Tonight through Friday night. Additional information: Rain will overspread the area tonight before changing over to flurries from west to east through the day on Friday as temperatures rapidly fall below the freezing mark.

This will be the result of a strong cold front passing through the area. Southerly winds will abruptly become westerly to northwesterly upon the passage of the cold front with gusts of 60 to 80 km/h. Winds are expected to ease through Friday evening, except after midnight for far eastern Ontario.

Flurries and snow squalls off Lake Huron and Georgian Bay are also expected behind the front.

Roads and walkways may become icy and slippery. Travel may become difficult at times. Local utility outages are possible.

Tonight Cloudy with 40 percent chance of showers this evening. Rain beginning near midnight. Fog patches developing near midnight. Amount 10 to 15 mm. Wind south 20 km/h gusting to 40. Low plus 1
Fri, 19 Dec Rain changing to flurries in the morning. Fog patches dissipating early in the morning. Local snowfall amount 2 cm. Wind southwest 30 km/h gusting to 60. Temperature falling to minus 4 in the afternoon. Wind chill minus 12 in the afternoon.
Night Flurries ending late in the evening then mainly cloudy. Wind west 30 km/h gusting to 50. Low minus 12. Wind chill minus 12 in the evening and minus 19 overnight.
