KAWARTHA LAKES-The city says work on the Omemee bridge rehabilitation project is taking longer than expected after crews uncovered more extensive repair needs.
The updated estimated completion date is now December 19, 2025.
“We understand this extension may cause ongoing inconvenience for those who travel through the area on King Street and surrounding residents. As crews uncovered additional structural issues, it became clear that more time was required to complete the repairs safely and to the standard our community expects. We sincerely apologize for the extended disruption and appreciate the patience residents, businesses and visitors have shown throughout this project.” said the City.
The current detours will remain in place until the revised completion date.
