BANCROFT-Three people are facing drug trafficking and other charges after the seizure of illegal drugs in Bancroft according to police.
Members of the Bancroft OPP began an investigation in late spring into drug trafficking in the area.
On Thursday, June 26, 2025, members of the OPP East Region Community Street Crime Unit, assisted by members of the OPP Emergency Response Team, the Canine Unit and officers with the Bancroft Detachment, executed a search warrant at a residence on Snow Road. Three people were arrested inside.
Officers seized over 38-grams of suspected cocaine and over 20-grams of suspected crack cocaine,
Charles Clancy age 63, Kathleen Clancy, age 37, and William Parks, age 33, all of Bancroft, have been charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – two counts
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
Parks is additionally charged with failing to comply with a probation order.
The three accused were held in custody for bail hearings before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville, which will continue today.
