KAWARTHA LAKES-An employee was tackled and assaulted during an attempted robbery in Lindsay.
On May 14th 2025, at 4:14pm police were called to a robbery in progress at a business on Kent Street West in Lindsay. Store employees observed a female suspect concealing items in a large tote bag, and attempting to exit the store. The victim confronted the suspect, who was then tackled and assaulted according to police. Â
The suspect exited the store and fled on foot with the stolen items. Within minutes responding officers located the suspect in the area and placed her under arrest.
A 33-year-old woman from Lindsay was charged with:
- Robbery with theft
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance
The stolen items were recovered and the accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
