KAWARTHA LAKES-Kawartha Lakes’ Roads Operations division announced today that road conditions have permitted the removal of load weight restrictions for all municipal roads south of County Road 8 (Glenarm Road). Load restrictions on the section of County Road 8 east of Fenelon Falls to Bobcaygeon remain in effect.
Seasonally load restricted municipal roads north of County Road 8, are still restricted until further notice.
Staff are reviewing conditions on a daily basis and the remaining restrictions will be lifted when road conditions permit. Due to changing weather patterns, the roads affected and the duration of the restricted period may change.

Restrictions are put into place in accordance with By-Law 2022-190, when road damage is most likely to occur due to heavy loading. This program identifies and imposes load restrictions on roads, or portions of roads that are weakened by excess water in the road base.
