KAWARTHA LAKES-Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for our area.
Officials say there is potential for heavy rainfall and thunderstorms today and tonight with localized rainfall amounts up to 50 mm. The first round of showers is expected near noon with a second, more substantial round of showers and thunderstorms tonight.
Numerous showers and thunderstorms associated with a warm front are expected to affect portions of the area. Areas that are affected by several thunderstorms may receive as much as 50 mm of rain. Rainfall warnings may be required. Localized flooding in low-lying areas and water pooling on roads are possible.
