Cannington Man Killed In Snowmobile Accident

ONTARIO-A 55-year-old male from Cannington has died following a snowmobile collision.

Durham Regional Police Officers from North Division responded to a snowmobile collision near Thorah Side Road, north of Thorah Concession 3, in the Township of Brock on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at approximately 7:35 p.m.
Police say a 55-year-old man was traveling northbound on his snowmobile when he lost traction. A second snowmobile, following behind, collided with his vehicle. The impact ejected the man from his snowmobile, resulting in severe injuries. Fire and EMS arrived on the scene and performed life-saving measures, however the man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Members of the DRPS – Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene and investigated the circumstances of the incident. The area of the roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected. The investigation remains ongoing.
