Special Weather Statement Issued For Kawartha Lakes And Peterborough

KAWARTHA LAKES-A highly impactful winter storm is possible Wednesday evening into Thursday according to Environment Canada.

Officials say total snowfall amounts of 20 to 40 cm with poor visibility in heavy snow and local blowing snow is possible beginning Wednesday evening and ending Thursday.

Significant amounts of snow are possible late Wednesday into Thursday across a large portion of southern Ontario due a strong low pressure system. At this point, the path of the low pressure system is still uncertain which will affect exact snowfall amounts. Hazardous travel conditions are likely. Motorists are urged to consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.
