PETERBOROUGH-A 40-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Tuesday afternoon.
At approximately 12:45pm on January 7, 2025, officers were called about a man committing an indecent act in Jackson Park. Upon arrival, officers learned the man had left the park and was now in the area of Hunter Street West and Reid Street. They were able to locate a man matching the description given to police and take him into custody.
As a result of the investigation, a 40-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Indecent Act- public place
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
- Fail to Comply with Prohibition Regarding Children
Police say the accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend Jackson Park. He is also bound by a prohibition order to not attend areas such as public parks, daycares or community centres where children could reasonably be expected to be.
The accused was held in custody, appeared in court today January 8, 2025 and was remanded into custody until his next court appearance on January 14, 2025.
