KAWARTHA LAKES-Two people are facing impaired driving charges after stops by Kawartha Lakes Police.
On Saturday December 21st, 2024 at approximately 12:10am while on patrol Kawartha Lakes Police reportedly observed a vehicle crossing the centre line and being operated erratically. The vehicle was stopped on Lindsay Street north in Lindsay. The 44-year-old female driver from Oakwood was subsequently arrested and charged with the following offence:
- Operation while Impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs
Later the same day at approximately 4:50pm Kawartha Lakes Police Service received a call regarding a motor vehicle being driven aggressively. Police located the vehicle on Queen Street in Lindsay and were able to stop the vehicle. A 20-year-old male driver from Thorold ON was subsequently arrested and charged with the following offence:
- Operation while Impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
In addition to the charges the driver’s both received a 90 -day driver’s licence suspension and the vehicles were impounded for 7-days.
The accused will both appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay.
