Peterborough Police Investigating After Shots Fired In Residential Neighbourhood

PETERBOROUGH-The Peterborough Police Service is investigating after shots were fired in a neighbourhood Tuesday night.

At approximately 11:30pm on November 12, 2024, officers were called to the townhomes at 850 Fairbairn Street after several reports of gun shots.  Upon arrival, officers learned that several units were struck with bullets and several more bullets were fired into the air.  No one was injured in the incident.

“It was a very brazen shooting and a complete disregard for anyones safety,” said Detective Sergeant Josh McGrath. “It’s a huge concern for the Peterborough Police Service, where there’s drugs, there’s guns.”

Officers are looking for three men all dressed in black who left the area in a black vehicle, heading north on Fairbairn Street.

Anyone with information or any dashcam footage if you have driven in the area of Fairbairn Street and Parkview Drive  in the last few days, is asked to call Peterborough Police at 705-876-1122 x555 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.stopcrimehere.ca

This incident is the 7th shooting in Peterborough this year.  Charges have been laid in five of those incidents so far.
