KAWARTHA LAKES-City of Kawartha Lakes OPP with assistance from MTO and EMS responded to a report of a serious collision between one bicycle and a commercial vehicle on Highway 35 and Wrenhaven Road on September 28, at approximately 11:00am.
Police say the commercial vehicle failed to remain on the scene. A passer by located the male and contacted the police.
As a result of the collision, a 60-year-old male operating the bicycle was airlifted by ORNGE to a hospital for life-threatening injuries.
Highway 35 and Wrenhaven Road were closed for several hours but reopened.
As a result, 35-year-old Christopher Craig from Fenelon Falls was arrested and charged with
-fail to stop at accident resulting in bodily harm
– fail to leave one meter while passing bicycle
The accused was released from custody and will appear in court at a later date.
