Dunsford Resident Facing Impaired Driving Charges

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 20-year-old Dunsford man is facing impaired driving charges after a traffic stop on Gil-Mar Road.

On September 22, 2024, at approximately 1am officers conducted a traffic stop on a motor vehicle on Country Road 36 near Gil-Mar Road. Through investigation, the driver was arrested for impaired driving offences.

Connor Mehnert, 20-year-old of Dunsford, was charged with Operation While Impaired Blood Alcohol Concentration over 80, Young Driver – BAC above zero and Speeding 1-49km/h over posted limit.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The motor vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days.

“If you plan on drinking or consuming drugs, plan to not drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, or come up with another plan that takes impaired driving out of the picture.” said police.
