News You Can Use-Public Meeting For Lindsay Street South Servicing Extension

KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes is planning to extend the municipal sanitary trunk sewer and the trunk watermain on Lindsay Street South from Logie Street to just north of Highway 7 in order to provide municipal services for lands along Lindsay Street and the new Gateway Residential Subdivision.

Officials say the purpose of this Public Information Centre (PIC) is to provide information about the proposed scope of the project, present plans showing the proposed project work, and receive input about any local issues within the study area. The PIC will be a drop-in format with displays showing the proposed work. Staff from the municipality and Valdor Engineering (consultant company) will be on hand to answer any questions according to the City. Subject to comments received and the receipt of necessary approvals, the municipality intends to proceed with the construction of this project in the Spring of 2025.

As part of this project, the municipality will be extending the trunk sanitary sewer and watermain from their current termination location at Lindsay Street and Logie Street within a future road widening project and providing sanitary and water service connections to lands on the east side of Lindsay Street between Logie Street and Highway 7 including the new Gateway Subdivision currently under construction. Sanitary sewers and watermain are also being proposed for lands south of Sucker Creek. The lands south of Sucker Creek will have a separate sanitary sewer outfall to the proposed sanitary pumping station within the Gateway Subdivision. A separate Schedule B Class EA is currently being conducted by the municipality for the sanitary pumping station.
