Five Businesses In Lindsay Broken Into In One Night

KAWARTHA LAKES-Two people have been charged after five Lindsay businesses were broken into early Friday morning.

On September 13th, 2024 at approximately 5:29am Kawartha Lakes Police Service responded to a call regarding a possible break and enter in progress at a local business in Lindsay.  When officers arrived on scene, they located a door which had been heavily damaged, while searching the building officers located two males inside and they were both subsequently arrested.  

Police say further investigation revealed that the two males were responsible for five breaks and entered local businesses in Lindsay overnight.  One male was also outstanding on a Parole violation warrant for similar incidents.

The accused are a 60-year -old male from Peterborough who was charged with the following offences:

  • Break, enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence X 5
  • Mischief Under $5,000 x 5
  • Theft under $5,000
  • Operation motor vehicle while prohibited X2

The second accused is a 45-year-old male from Peterborough charged with the following:

  • Break, enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence X 5
  • Mischief Under $5,000 x 5
  • Theft under $5,000

The accused were both held for bail and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay.
