Stolen Vehicles Recovered On Highway 401 Near Port Hope

NORTHUMBERLAND-The Northumberland OPP Highway Safety Division (HSD), and Peel Regional Police recovered three stolen vehicles.

On August 19, 2024, shortly before 3:00 p.m., Peel Regional Police requested assistance in conducting a traffic stop of a tractor-trailer travelling eastbound on Highway 401 towards the Municipality of Port Hope.

Members of the OPP HSD and Northumberland OPP responded to the report. At approximately 3:20 p.m., police were able to stop the vehicle and conduct an arrest of the driver on Highway 401 in the Township of Hamilton.

As a result, Adenawer Correa-Lima a 64-year-old from Mississauga, has been charged with:

–      Possession of property obtained by crime – three counts

–      Trafficking in stolen goods over $5,000

–      Driving while under suspension.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton at a future date.
