Manilla Drinking Water System Temporarily Connected To Hauled Water Due To Well Maintenance

KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes is currently bringing in hauled water to the Manilla Drinking Water System due to recent maintenance being performed on the system’s production well.

Before bringing the well back online, it must be disinfected and bacteriological samples taken from it need to come back clean. Results are typically returned within two business days.

As a result, the production well is currently offline and the drinking water is being pulled from hauled water.

Residents hooked up to the Manilla Drinking Water System may notice a difference in the taste and smell of their drinking water as it is currently coming from a different source. Officials stress that the drinking water meets all regulatory requirements and continues to be safe for drinking.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience as we work through the process.” said the City
