Woman Reportedly Held Against Her Will, Threatened With Weapons And Sexually Assaulted In Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 35-year-old Lindsay man is facing charges after a woman says she was held against her will, threatened with weapons and sexually assaulted. Warrants have been issued for two other people.

On Wednesday, August 14, 2024, members of the Kawartha Lake Police Criminal Investigation Branch entered into an investigation after the woman came forward.

She told police that the incident occurred while she was visiting the residence of someone known to her and involved two other guests at the residence. While at the residence a dispute occurred resulting in the female being held against her will, threatened and sexually assaulted before she was able to flee the residence according to polcie. The victim was taken to hospital and later released. 

At 8:45pm on Wednesday August 14, 2024, with the assistance of Ontario Provincial Police Emergency Response Team and Kawartha Lakes OPP Street Crime Unit members of the Kawartha Lakes Police Criminal investigations branch executed a warrant at a residence on William Street North in Lindsay, taking one individual involved in the incident into custody. Kawartha Lakes Police Forensic Identification Unit collected physical evidence from the scene and seized a quantity of fentanyl and cocaine. 

A 35-year-old Lindsay man has been charged with forcible confinement, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and possession of a substance for the purpose of trafficking (X2).

The accused has been held for bail and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on August 16, 2024. 

This investigation is ongoing, arrest warrants have been issued for two involved individuals.
