KAWARTHA LAKES-Police say a 38-year-old Lindsay woman is facing a slew of charges including impaired driving with a child in the vehicle.
Police say on August 10th at approximately 7:00 p.m. City of Kawartha Lakes OPP officers received reports of an impaired driver at the Gas station in Coboconk with a child on board. The vehicle departed the gas station before officers arrived.
Officers located and stopped the vehicle on Kirkfield Road.
A 38-year-old from Lindsay was arrested and charged with
·      Operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
·      Assault a peace officer
·      Driver fail to surrender licence.
Officers ensured the child’s safety.
The accused was served a 90-day driver’s licence suspension, and the involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days in accordance with the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines. The accused was released from custody with a future court date.
