KAWARTHA LAKES-The OPP Highway Safety Division (HSD) – Toronto Detachment – Whitby office, is investigating a single vehicle rollover collision that resulted in one fatality.
On Sunday June 2, 2024 at 2:23 a.m., officers responded to a collision on Highway 115 northbound, at Old Highway 35 in Clarington. Police say the vehicle was travelling southbound on Old Highway 35 near Highway 115 when it struck the concrete median barrier and entered the northbound lanes of Highway 115 rolling over into the ditch on the east side of Highway 115.
The driver of the vehicle, a 25-year-old male from Markham was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The cause of the collision is being investigated and the OPP-HSD Traffic Support Unit is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
