KAWARTHA LAKES-A 33-year-old Lindsay man is facing a number of charges after police investigated a report of sexual assault.
On Thursday May 23rd 2024, the Kawartha Lakes Police Service received a complaint of a sexual assault. The Criminal Investigations Branch conducted an investigation and quickly identified a suspect and a search warrant was conducted at an address in Lindsay. Police say the Forensic Identification Unit attended the address to gather physical evidence.
As a result of the investigation a 33-year-old male from Lindsay who cannot be named, to protect the identity of the victim was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Kidnapping
- Sexual Interference
- Sexual Assault
- Assault
- Assault cause Bodily Harm
- Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm
- Invitation to Sexual Touching
Police believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no further threat to public safety.
The accused was held in custody and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on May24th, 2024.
