St. Catharines Resident Charged After Traffic Stop In Omemee

KAWARTHA LAKES-A St Catharines resident is facing charges after a traffic stop in Omemee.

On May 01, 2024, at approximately 3:18pm, an OPP officer conducted a traffic stop on Ski Hill Road in Omemee. Through investigation, the driver was arrested and charged with Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act Offences.

Thurston Dowse, 27-year-old of St. Catharines, was charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired Blood Alcohol Concentration over 80
  • Drive Motor Vehicle Perform Stunt Excessive Speed
  • Fail to Surrender Insurance Card
  • Careless Driving

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The motor vehicle was towed and impounded for 14 days and the driver’s license was suspended for 90 days.
