UPDATE-Peterborough Police Investigating Fatal Shooting

PETERBOROUGH-The Peterborough Police Service is investigating a fatal shooting at an address at the housing complex at 572 Crystal Drive.

At approximately 5:00am on April 26, 2024, officers were called about gunshots being fired.

A 32-year-old Peterborough man was located at the scene with gunshot wounds, transported to Peterborough Regional Health Centre where he was pronounced deceased.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers learned that the suspect had fled the home.

K9 was called in and conducted a track which led officers to the edge of the north side of Highway 115.  The Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) was also deployed to help officers on the ground attempt to locate the suspect.

The track did not result in locating the suspect.

Officers then conducted a grid search of the area and issued a notice to two nearby schools that there was an ongoing investigation. Hold and secures were lifted about 10:40am after the grid search was completed.
