KAWARTHA LAKES-Every home sold through Lindsay’s Birdhouse Realty is helping local charities.
The Birdhouse Legacy Fund launched two years ago with the rebranding of the brokerage as a way to give back to the community. With every transaction, Birdhouse agents donate $50 and the brokerage matches it with an additional $50.
In 2023 the realtors donated $8,100.00 and BirdHouse Realty matched it with an additional $8,100.00 for a total of $16,200. The funds are then divided up and donated to four local charities or non-profit organizations. Four different charities are chosen each year. This year Kawartha Lakes Food Source, Community Care Kawartha Lakes, The Kawartha Lakes Public Library and Big Brother Big Sisters each received $4050.
The previous year the fund donated $3700 each to Women’s Resources, A Place Called Home, the Humane Society and Ross Memorial Hospital.
