Lindsay Woman Charged With Impaired Driving At RIDE Check

KAWARTHA LAKES-City of Kawartha Lakes OPP officers entered into an impaired driving investigation on April 11, 2024.

Police say just after midnight officers conduced a traffic stop on a motor vehicle on Highway 35 at Highway 7 that entered a RIDE program after almost causing a head on collision while approaching the RIDE program.

30-year-old Courtney Bray Lindsay, was charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired Blood Alcohol Concentration over 80
  • Operation while Impaired
  • Operator Motor Vehicle without Insurance
  • Drive Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available
  • Drive Motor Vehicle with Liquor Readily Available
  • Unsafe Move – lane or shoulder

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The motor vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days.

Police remind residents, if they plan on drinking or consuming drugs, they should not drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, or come up with another plan that takes impaired driving out of the picture.
