The band made their Grand Ole Opry debut on February 27th playing the biggest stage in country music.

“Thank you so much @opry @wsmradio for making last night unforgettable! We love y’all and we will remember these moments we shared together forever.”

The James Barker Band was formed in 2013 in Kawartha Lakes by James Barker who is the lead vocalist and guitar player and drummer Connor Stephen. They first met when they attended band camp as kids and played together throughout high school. They met guitarist Taylor Abram in 2011 and in 2013 bassist Bobby Martin joined the lineup.

Shortly afterwards, the James Barker Band won the Nashville Star talent competition at Kempenfest in Barrie, Ontario, and the rest is history.

The band has four number-one country singles in Canada with “Chills“, “Keep It Simple“, “Over All Over Again“, and “New Old Trucks“.

They have won multiple country music awards over the years including a Juno, CCMA’s and are nominated for Country Album of the Year at the 2024 Juno Awards.
