UPDATE-Caught In Peterborough-ROPE Squad Looking For Repeat Offender Known To Frequent Peterborough

UPDATE:APPREHENDED IN PETERBOROUGH

KAWARTHAS-The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E.) Squad is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a federal offender wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant as a result of a breach of a Long Term Supervision Order.

Derek Powell is described as a white male, 54 years of age, 5’8″ (173 cm) 260 lbs (118 kg) with brown hair and green eyes.

Police say Powell is serving a seven-year, six month and fifteen day Long Term Supervision Order for:  

  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Threaten Death and Bodily Harm – 2 counts
  • Forcible Confinement – 2 counts
  • Assault Peace Officer – 2 counts
  • Mischief
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order – 4 counts

The offender is known to frequent the Greater Toronto Area, Peterborough, Simcoe Region, York Region and Durham Region.
