Homes Evacuated After Gas Line Struck In Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-A number of homes have been evacuated after a gas line was struck in Lindsay.

It happened this afternoon shortly after 1:30pm in the area of 230 Colborne Street West near Highway 35 in an area of new home construction. Fire crews responding said they could smell fumes from a distance away. The Gas company has been notified but could take approximately 45 minutes to arrive.

Police and fire crews are on the scene with Angeline Street closed from Highway 35 to Colborne Street.
