KAWARTHA LAKES-City of Kawartha Lakes OPP investigated two incidents involving impaired drivers in the early morning of January 28.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on County Road 8 on a motor vehicle on January 28 at approximately 1:40 am and an impaired driving investigation commenced. Also at approximately 02:49 am, a second traffic stop was conducted on a motor vehicle in Fenelon Falls and an impaired investigation commenced.
The two drivers of the motor vehicles were arrested and charged,
Meredith Montgomery 46 years old of Fenelon Falls was charged with:
- Operation While Impaired Blood Alcohol Concentration over 80
- Drive Motor Vehicle No Currently Validated Permit
- Fail to Surrender Insurance Card
Robert Burke 46 years old of Fenelon Falls was charged with:
- Operation While Impaired Blood Alcohol Concentration over 80
- Drive Motor Vehicle Without Proper Headlights
The accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The motor vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days.
