40 Years After Murder Of Barbara Chapman Police Continue To Search For Her Killer

KAWARTHA LAKES-The Quinte West Detachment of the OPP is once again seeking the public’s assistance to solve a murder that took place 40 years ago.

The Province of Ontario is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the death of Barbara Chapman.

On January 23, 1984, Barbara was found deceased in her home near Frankford, in the City of Quinte West. Her death was found to be a homicide.

The OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), in conjunction with the Chief Coroner’s Office and the Centre for Forensic Sciences, continue to investigate this murder and have followed-up many leads over the years.

On the 40th anniversary of Barbara Chapman’s death, investigators are appealing to the public for any information that may help solve this serious crime. Even a detail someone believed was insignificant could make all the difference according to police.
