PETERBOROUGH-A 26-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an incident early Sunday morning.
Officers were flagged down by several staff at a business in the Charlotte Street and George Street area as they had a person refusing to leave at approximately 2:30am on January 14. When officers arrived, police say the woman continued to be aggressive with staff and officers and during arrest kicked an officer in the leg.
As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with Assault a Peace Officer and Being Intoxicated in a Public Place.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court February 13, 2024.
