Dispute Over Snow Shovelling Results In Assault Charge

PETERBOROUGH-Police say one person has been charged with assault after a dispute over snow shovelling.

Peterborough County OPP officers received a call regarding a dispute between two neighbours on January 13, 2024, at approximately 12:45pm, The complainant advised that they had heard snow being thrown against the window of their residence. The complainant went outside to see two people shovelling in a manner that was hitting the house. Police say the complainant and the accused got into a verbal dispute which escalated to the point where one person was assaulted.

35-year-old Jesse Parent of North Kawartha Township, ON., was arrested and charged with Assault.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on February 13, 2024.
