Bancroft Woman Charged With Assaulting Paramedics Now Facing Additional Charges

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 41-year-old Bancroft woman charged with assaulting paramedics is facing additional charges after an incident at the local hospital.

On January 2nd, 2024, shortly after 6:30 p.m., members of the Bancroft OPP were dispatched to a residence in the Town of Bancroft where two paramedics reported they had been assaulted. As a result of the investigation Jill Price, a 41-year-old from Bancroft was charged with Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm, Assault (two counts), Assault with a Weapon and Intimidation – Health Services – impede health professional (two counts).

Further information was received that a healthcare professional at Quinte Health North Hastings Hospital had been assaulted and damage had allegedly been caused within the hospital. Price was additionally charged with assault and mischief under $5000.

The accused has been held in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on January 04, 2024, with the criminal charges.
