$800,000 Damage In Fire At That Place On Cameron Restaurant In Fenelon Falls

KAWARTHA LAKES-A restaurant in Fenelon Falls has been destroyed by fire leaving at least 10 people out of work.

The fire broke out just after midnight on January 1 at That Place on Cameron restaurant in Fenelon Falls. Three stations from Fenelon Falls, Cameron and Coboconk responded to the blaze. According to Dave Kish, District Chief, crews have found the area of origin and are now trying to determine if it was a faulty fireplace or faulty electrical wiring.

“Crews did a good job getting it under control quickly within an hour and 30 minutes. ” Kish told Kawartha 411 News.

No one was injured as the restaurant was closed at the time but Kish says approximately 10 people including the owners are now out of work. Kish estimates damage to the building and contents to be around $800,000.
